Jessica’s writing

welcome

A serene landscape featuring mountains, a lake, and a vibrant sunset sky.

Hello! I'm Jessica Mann, award-winning writer and naturalist based in Teton Valley, Idaho and Ojai, California.

I write realistic animal fiction that lets readers

see through the eyes of wild birds and animals,

weaving together storytelling, science, and mythology into engaging stories that entertain and inspire.

A serene landscape featuring a sunset over mountains, reflecting vibrant colors on a calm lake.

Latest release: Uplift

When her high mountain wilderness is threatened by humans, a rebellious young bird must teach others how to work together to save their common home.

A rich, mythical story told through avian eyes about the bonds of family and the joys of friendship.

It may just change the way you see birds forever.

With original pen-and-ink illustrations by Steve Habersang

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Uplift goes to support organizations protecting birds and nature
